CFD-DEM Simulation of Fluidization of Polyhedral Particles in a Fluidized Bed

Fluidization of non-spherical particles is a common process in energy industries and chemical engineering. Understanding the fluidization important to guide relevant processes. There already have been numerous studies which investigate behaviors different during fluidization, but investigations polyhedral do not receive much attention. In this study, investigation described by polyhedron approach conducted with numerical CFD-DEM method. Experiments three kinds are under same condition corresponding simulations validate accuracy our model. The results indicate that model can predict reasonable accuracy. also investigated study. Compared spherical particles, motion stronger, mixing degree higher gas velocity.
